Mr. Raymond Fell
Superintendent
Patchogue-Medford School District
32 South Ocean Avenue
Patchogue, NY 11772

Dear Mr. Fell:

Will the Patchogue-Medford School District have a need for an experienced physical education teacher this fall? If so, as a permanently certified physical education teacher with a specialty in adaptive physical education and fourteen years of background with the St. Louis, New York City, and Merrick school systems, I should meet your requirements.

With combined expertise in physical education and adaptive physical education, I have had many opportunities to function in a variety of educational settings. Working in city schools was a rigorous training ground and gave me hard-earned training in hands-on class management, district-wide curriculum development, and IEP creation. Working with a diverse group of children has been rewarding and I have created positive change in many of my students' academic and personal lives.

Whatever the circumstances, I always strive to achieve daily goals, to plan activities that enhance the students' academic curriculum, and to instill a love for physical fitness and accomplishment. In today's age of "video" kids who lack opportunity for fitness and are becoming ever more sedentary, I impart a real understanding of the role of athletics and physical fitness in the world in which they live. My students learn that physical well being enhances their performance at school and at play. They learn to welcome and enjoy the benefits of physicality, individual achievement, and team play.

Please consider this letter as an expression of my sincere interest in pursuing any vacancies that may arise in the district. I will create an energizing and productive learning environment that will promote a genuine interest in physical and personal student achievement. I know that I can make a valuable contribution to your students' education and I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Lorraine Johnson
