Mr. Harold Blumenthal
Director, International Sales
Data Technology, Inc.
Melville, NY 11747

Dear Mr. Blumenthal:

Richard Sorenson of Computer Associates suggested that I contact you in regard to an entry-level position in your international sales department.

Richard is a family friend and knows that I have training in economics, an intense interest in global business, and a background of demanding work experiences that have fully prepared me to make an immediate contribution.

At New York University, I recently earned a B.S. in Business with a concentration in International Business, Marketing, Economics, and History. This past Spring, I studied British and Western European life and culture at the University of London where I acquired a valuable knowledge of past and current European economics, business practices, political climates, and cultural mores. Travel throughout Europe matured my interest in global events and historical perspectives-interests that will enhance my international business abilities as the world's communities continue to merge.

Five years of experience working in a variety of positions has sharpened my business-related supervisory, organizational, and administrative skills. I've worked as an administrative assistant and trainer for the NYU Arts' Department. I've worked various summer jobs including fulfilling highly sensitive and pressurized administrative tasks with the Red Cross after the Flight 800 disaster. Summer experience with the International division of UPS gave me basic import/export exposure.

Taking initiative has always been my academic and career focus. I certainly understand responsibility, hold an intense work-ethic, and strive to do my best in any situation. I'd like to meet and discuss the ways in which I can contribute my experience and energy to Data Technology's success.

Sincerely,

Gerard Levitan
